An experienced legal team, supporting your interests.
For more than 35 years Charlie has been protecting the rights of his clients in complex divorce disputes. An experienced litigator, Charlie is well known for his tenaciousness and thoroughness.
Graduating from the University of British Columbia Law School in 1981, Charlie was called to the British Columbia bar in 1982. He has dealt with an extremely large range of family and civil law issues during his career and his legal experience and comfort with court procedures makes him a strong advocate of his clients' interests. He practices primarily in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and periodically in the British Columbia Court of Appeal.
Although Charlie is more than happy to negotiate if the other side is prepared to deal in good faith, he is well-known to be quite aggressive in prosecuting his client's case if the other party is not reasonable. If negotiation fails, Charlie is known as as someone who is not afraid of a fight. That is a last resort, but sometimes it is an absolute necessity to be aggressive in the pursuit of a just conclusion.
A proud Prince George resident since 1981, Charlie also spends considerable time in other areas of British Columbia serving clients in locations such as Fort St. John and Dawson Creek.
Although not totally bilingual, Charlie is fluent in Spanish. Se habla español.
Kyle received his law degree from the University of Alberta (Edmonton) in 2001 and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2002. Born and raised in Fort St. John, his northern knowledge and experience has been a significant asset to Fletcher & Company since 2004.
Kyle primarily addresses family law matters in the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Absolutely dedicated to problem-solving, Kyle often goes far beyond what might be expected in order to find solutions and ensure that his clients’ interests are fully served.
His conscientious approach to matters and his fluency in court make Kyle a formidable negotiator. He will not hesitate to take a case before the courts if a fair result cannot be achieved through negotiation.
Born and raised in Prince George, Kelly has been Fletcher & Company’s meticulous organizer for almost 20 years. Experienced in the operation of a legal practice, her valuable understanding of complex legal processes and court requirements ensures that the matters we pursue flow smoothly and proceed without delay.
A strong team player who is committed to efficiency, Kelly is the gatekeeper of our electronic document management process. She cross-links all relevant case information in order to make it easily accessible and searchable for both our lawyers and clients.
Kelly’s knowledge of matrimonial law and practice means that in many undisputed matters she can provide legal advice and cost-effective solutions for our clients without the need for a lawyer. She is one of very few Designated Paralegals working in family law in Northern British Columbia.
Electronic document management: less shuffling, more doing!
For more than 15 years Fletcher & Company has embraced electronic methods that let us efficiently organize the voluminous paper documents often required by modern court procedures. When complex family law and division of property questions are being addressed, the sheer volume of procedural and reference documents that become involved can be significant.
Our 'electronic compendium' approach gives our clients rapid access to important documents and elements of their case (useful in refreshing memories) and reduces any wasting of time when looking for the proverbial 'needle in the haystack'. It also supports our lawyers in presenting your case concisely and effectively when it's brought before a judge, allowing for relevant files and pertinent information to very quickly be referred to the court's attention.
